Why OC Families Choose Sam
THE BABY ISN’T MY ONLY CLIENT
Yes, I know newborns. But postpartum care also means paying attention to the person recovering, the partner finding their footing, the sibling adjusting to a brand-new family dynamic, and the rhythm of the home around them.
That’s the difference between simply caring for a newborn and supporting a family through postpartum.
I’M THE PERSONALITY HIRE
I know how vulnerable it can feel to invite someone into your home during the newborn stage, especially when you’re exhausted, recovering, and figuring everything out in real time. I’m your safe space.
I learn your family, your routines, your preferences, your sense of humor, and the little things that matter to you.
You’re hiring experience and judgment, but you’re also hiring the person you’ll be handing your baby to at 3 a.m. I take both seriously.
I’LL TEACH WHILE I CARE
I’m not here to become the only person who knows how to feed, soothe, settle, or understand your baby. I’ll explain what I’m noticing, show you what I’m doing, and help parents, partners, grandparents, and other caregivers feel more confident doing it too.
Because great support should leave your family more capable — not more dependent.
How I Support Orange County Families
DAYTIME, BUT MAKE IT A BREEZE
Recovery, feeding, newborn cues, baby care, parent education, babywearing, and the little resets that keep the whole day from unraveling. Let’s go for a walk, or stay in and have a home-spa day. Learn belly binding or spill the tea on your labor experience.
YOU SLEEP. I’VE GOT THE NIGHT.
Feeds, diapers, soothing, settling, safe sleep, and thoughtful overnight care so you can actually rest without feeling disconnected from what happened. Nightly logs and notes are recorded for you!
I KNOW NEWBORNS.
Hands-on newborn care from someone who understands cues, feeding patterns, sleep rhythms, twins, and how quickly things can change in those first weeks.
And I’ll explain what I’m seeing as we go, so you’re learning your baby right alongside me.
Questions Orange County Parents Are Asking
-
You might not yet, and you definitely don’t need to figure that out before you reach out.
A postpartum doula is looking at you, your recovery, your baby, and the whole family, while a Newborn Care Specialist is more heavily focused on baby’s care, patterns, routines, and development.
My work lives pretty naturally in both worlds. So if what you’re thinking is, “I need someone who really knows newborns, but I also need someone who understands that I just had a baby,” hi. That’s kind of my thing.
And if you’ve been Googling “night nurse,” what you may actually be looking for is overnight postpartum or newborn care — we can talk through what makes the most sense.

Ideally? You sleeping. 😂
While you’re in bed, I’m handling the baby care your feeding plan allows — feeds, bottles, burping, diapers, soothing, settling, safe sleep, pump parts, and all the little overnight resets that make 3 a.m. feel a lot less chaotic.
If you’re breastfeeding, I’ll bring baby to you when needed and take over again afterward so you can get back to sleep.
And in the morning, you’ll know what happened overnight: when baby ate, slept, had diapers, what worked well, and anything I noticed that’s worth keeping an eye on.
-
Possibly! I’m currently in the process of working with insurance providers, so I may be able to accept yours. The easiest thing to do is reach out and I’ll confirm what I’m able to accept at the time you’re looking for care.
I do accept HSA/FSA funds. Depending on your plan, there may be specific receipts, invoices, or other documentation they require for reimbursement, so let’s work through that together and make sure you have what you need.
Benefits can vary by plan, but I’m happy to help make the process as easy as possible on my end.
-
Very much yes.
Twins are actually one of the areas I’m especially comfortable in. Two babies means twice the feeding, diapers, cues, logistics, and tiny people with completely separate personalities — not simply one newborn routine copied and pasted twice.
I can help you find systems that actually work for your two babies and your household, while making sure both parents feel confident caring for them without needing four extra hands forever.
